What is an EAP?
An Emergency Action Plan (EAP) describes the actions employees must take in response to emergencies such as fire, explosion, hazardous material release, or medical emergencies. OSHA requires a written EAP for all job sites with 10 or more employees.
Evacuation Procedures
When you hear the evacuation alarm: STOP work immediately. Secure any immediate hazards if safe to do so. Follow the designated evacuation route to the muster point. Never re-enter until authorized by site supervisor. Account for all personnel at the muster point.
Emergency Contacts
Emergency Services: 911. LEO Emergency Hotline: posted at site trailer. Supervisor cell number: provided at orientation. Nearest hospital: identified in site-specific EAP. Never assume someone else has called 911 — if you see an emergency, call it.
Medical Emergencies
If someone is injured: Call 911 first. Do not move the injured person unless there is immediate danger. Stay with them until EMS arrives. Inform supervisor immediately. First aid kits are located at the site trailer and in each LEO vehicle. Know their location before an incident occurs.
